Elisa Tortorelli earned her Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering at Polytechnic University of Bari in October 2019, discussing a thesis in Fluid Dynamics on the numerical modelling of a membrane accumulator for the exploitation of wave energy. She obtained her Master's Degree in Aerospace Engineering in December 2022 at the Polytechnic University of Turin with a thesis on advanced 2D models for the study of structures made of hyperelastic material.

In February 2023, she started a PhD program in Mechanical Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Turin in collaboration with the MUL2 research group under the supervision of prof. Erasmo Carrera. She is involved in a project concerned with fatigue analysis of composite structures and the digital twin application for aircraft structural life prediction. The research activities are carried out in the frame of the project Centro Nazionale per la Mobilità Sostenibile (CNMS) related to the PNRR project.
