Ibrahim Kaleel is a PhD student at Politecnico di Torino under the H2020 Marie Sklodowska-Curie European Training Network project FULLCOMP. He earned his Master of Science degree in Computational Engineering from Ruhr Universitaet Bochum, Germany in 2015. He undertook his master thesis at Robert Bosch GmbH, Germany on the topic: “Numerical Simulation of Micro-scale Contact Models using FEM”. Additional research activities in the field of FEM and machine learning were also undertaken at Institute of Static and Dynamic and Interdisciplinary Centre for Advanced Materials Simulation (ICAMS) at Ruhr Universitaet Bochum. He completed his Bachelor degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Manipal Institute of Technology, India. As a part of the bachelor degree, he undertook his final project in Honeywell Technology Solutions Limited, Bangalore. He has also participated in exchange programs, competitions and conferences across Europe and USA. His research activity as a part of FULLCOMP project includes development of numerical frameworks for classical and nano composites based on Carrera Unified Formulation.

Alberto García de Miguel is a Ph.D student at Politecnico di Torino. He earned both the BSc and the MSc in Aerospace Engineering at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, finishing on 2015. He carried out a MSc thesis at the same year in cooperation with Politecnico di Torino on the introduction of new higher-order one-dimensional structural models applied to the analysis of metallic and composite structures. As a student, he has participated in several projects and courses abroad, supported by entities such as the European Space Agency, Université de Liège and Warsaw University of Technology. He also worked as an intern at MSC Software. His research activity as part of the FullComp project is related to the development of advanced refined models for the accurate analysis of composite structures.

Gabriele De Pietro earned his Masters Degree in Aerospace Engineering at the Polytechnic of Turin in 2015. As a student visitor, he also attended the Institut Polytechnique des Sciences Avancées of Paris and the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, where he carried out his graduate thesis dealing with the validation of advanced one-dimensional models in dynamic response analyses of composite structures.

Daniele Guarnera is a Mechanical Engineer working at Politecnico di Torino. He completed the BSc in Mechanical Engineering at Università di Catania in March 2012, by developing a project on the water supplying of the city of Catania by using inverse pumps (PATs). Later he attended a MSc in Mechanical Engineering at Politecnico di Torino and he earned the master degree in October 2015, by discussing a dissertation on a model for pantograph/rigid catenary system dynamic, developed at Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya in Barcelona. Daniele Guarnera started working as a Ph.D student in November 2015, under the supervision of the Prof. Erasmo Carrera. His research problem is related to the development of advanced structural models, composite materials and fluid-structure interaction.
