CARRERA UNIFIED FORMULATION
Refined one-, two- and three-dimensional models can be derived using a compact, unified formulation.
COMPOSITES
Advanced structural models are able to predict complex stress field, a step forward in the composite materials analysis
MULTIFIELD ANALYSIS
Fully-coupled multifield analyses including: piezoelectric and magnetostrictive materials, thermal and moisture effetcs
AEROELASTICITY AND FLUID-STRUCTURE INTERACTION
Development of advanced aeroelastic models for static and dynamic aeroelastic analyses of wings, panels and rotating blades
AIRCRAFT AND SPACECRAFT DESIGN
Refined structural moldes for the analysis of complex structures
ROTOR-DYNAMICS
Refined one-dimensional models can be a valuable alternative to three-dimensional models in the analysis of rotating blades, discs and shafts
BIOMECHANICS
Refined computational models, based on CUF, have been used in the solution of classical bio-mechanical problems
DISSEMINATION
Our work can be found in hundreds of scientific papers and in many books
BEST THEORY DIAGRAMS
The BTD is a tool to edit an arbitrarily given theory to get a lower number of terms for a given error or to increase the accuracy while keeping the computational costs constant.

Rodolfo Azzara is an Aerospace Engineer working at Politecnico di Torino. He gained his BSc in Aerospace Engineering at the Politecnico di Torino in October 2016, presenting a thesis on additive manufacturing for aerospace. Afterward, he obtained an MSc from the same university in December 2018, with a thesis on the analysis and design of landing gear, lander, and docking phases through multibody simulations. Rodolfo started working at Politecnico di Torino in January 2019 under the supervision of Prof. Erasmo Carrera. He was involved in an international project dealing with ground vibration tests, flight tests, and flutter clearance. He was awarded his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering in March 2023, presenting a PhD Thesis on the nonlinear and linearized analysis of vibrations of loaded anisotropic beam, plate, and shell structures. His current research project is about the development of advanced theories for the nonlinear static and dynamic analysis of aerospace structures.
