Dr. Girardot is an assistant professor at Arts et Métiers and the Institute of mechanics and engineering (I2M) in Bordeaux, France. After his PH.D. in 2014 in the field of the laser/matter interaction and a two years fellowship dealing with the mechanical behavior of weaving based reinforcement composites, his research activities focuses now on the dynamic mechanical behavior of heterogeneous materials, especially those where non-linear contacts and fragmentations occur. Both experimental (gas gun, drop tower, dynamic fracture) and numerical (particle methods, proper generalized decomposition) developments are set to contribute significantly to the understanding of the phenomena occurring in materials such as textiles, entangled and organic-based composites materials.
