Lorenzo Cappelli is a Ph.D. student at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure d'Arts et Métiers and a member of the FullComp team under the H2020 Marie Sklodowska-Curie European Training Network. He has prepared his Bachelor thesis about "Basic simulation of fluid-structure interaction problems - FSI". Then, he has obtained his Master of Science degree "cum laude" on Aerospace Engineering with Aeronautical Structure specialization by performing the Master of Science thesis on "Aerodynamic optimization of a large PrandtlPlane configuration", in the University of Pisa. Then, a continuous cooperation with the University of Pisa has been carry on, in order to develop the Master thesis studies, by applying the PrandtlPlane aerodynamic optimization method to the P180 Avanti II aircraft of Piaggio Aerospace industries. Lorenzo Cappelli has worked also for several months as Aerospace Engineer with specialization in Structures in an engineering consulting company and the job consisted both in analytical and numerical computations (FEM and Multibody Dynamics Simulations), with a continuous cooperation with the team members; moreover, experimental tests were often carry on, in order to validate the numerical results. The main fields of studies were in aeronautical, automotive and industrial automation.
