Margarita Akterskaia is a PhD student at Leibniz University in Hannover, and a member of the FullComp team under the H2020 Marie Sklodowska-Curie European Training Network. She prepared her Bachelor thesis on the topic “Homogenization and heterogenization of unidirectional fiber composite materials” in Computational Mechanics. 2 years later she earned a Master of Science degree with highest grade in the Saint-Petersburg State Polytechnic University in Russia. Aim of the research project was to develop injection molding simulation of a frontal BMW bumper.

Margarita always successfully participated in different mathematical competitions and received scholarships for winners. She also worked on internationals projects in the University during her master period. Another valuable experience she obtained was teaching in her native Lyceum “PTS” of the Russian Academy of Sciences for talented pupils. Ms Akterskaia developed her skills in organization projects when she founded and directed in 2012-2015 Math and Physical courses for students.

Her research activity as part of the FullComp project will be focused on the failure analysis of composite structures through global-local methods.
