Sergio Minera is a Ph.D. student at University of Bristol, U.K., enrolled in the FullComp team under the H2020 Marie Sklodowska-Curie European Training Network. He earned his BSc in Physics at Universidad del Valle, Guatemala, 2008, and his MSc in Mathematical Modelling in Engineering at Università degli Studi dell'Aquila, Italy, 2011. He has worked for several companies developing mathematical models and algorithms for optimization of processes, forecasting, logistics, operations research and simulations. He also worked as university teacher at the Physics, Mathematics and Economics Departments at Universidad Del Valle, Universidad Francisco Marroquín and Universidad Rafael Landivar. In the last years he has been involved in the aviation as a commercial pilot and flight instructor. His research activity, as part of the FullComp project, will be related to the Buckling Analysis of thin Shells using Carrera Unified Formulation.
