Telescopes have a very long history. Since ancient times, man has observed the sky with curiosity; this has led to the development of techniques and objects that can help him observe all the visible.

In this project, the students of the course Spacecraft Structures (Strutture per Veicoli Spaziali) have drawn the state-of-the-art on the subject followed by a detailed conceptual design of a new space telescope using composite deployable tape springs.

The final report of the students' work is available here.
