Jianying Hu is currently a lecturer working at the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Mechanics at Ningbo University. She gained her Bachelor’s degree in Material Science and Engineering at Xi’an Jiaotong University in July 2011. She obtained her Ph.D. in Mechanics at Xi’an Jiaotong University in June 2018 under the supervision of Prof. Zishun Liu. During this period, her main research was the deformation behavior of hydrogel and composite hydrogel structures. In July 2018, she started working at Ningbo University and continued her research on soft materials and composite structures. Then in 2022, she received a scholarship from China Scholarship Council to pursue study as a visiting scholar under the supervision of Prof. Erasmo Carrera in Italy for 12 months. In October 2022, she came to the Politecnico di Torino and joined the MUL2 research group. Her research project is focused on the large deformation of soft material by the Carrera Unified Formulation.
