Dr. Houssein Nasser is currently a research scientist at the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology. He received his Ph.D degree in signal processing in 2006 from Université de Rennes, France. Dr. Nasser has been a visitor scientist for one year at Active Structural Laboratory, Université Libre de Bruxelles, Belgium. The research interests of Dr. Nasser include modelling-based design of piezoelectric transducers for structural health monitoring and active control applications with emphasis on experimental aspects. He has been the principal investigator of FNR research project MAFICOMECH (C08/MS/17) and one ongoing FNR research project (CO11/MS/1228375). He supervised two Ph.D. students. Dr. Nasser has co-authored about 26 Scopus referenced papers and he published one European patent on unidirectional piezoelectric transducer (EP2549556A1).
